The Three to Know
Trafft - Best for Spiritual Services
Trafft is the only major scheduling platform in this list that explicitly names spiritual practitioners as its target audience. "Mediums, energy healers, astrologers" appear by name in their marketing. The free tier (up to 5 team members) is a functional free tier, not a trial.
Features relevant to esoteric practice: calendar integration with major providers, integrated payment via Stripe and PayPal, automatic Zoom/Google Meet link generation per appointment, Zapier connectivity for automation.
For solo practitioners or studios under 5 practitioners, Trafft's free tier competes with Calendly's paid Standard tier.
Acuity Scheduling - Best Intake Forms and Bundles
Described by multiple independent sources as "the industry standard" specifically within esoteric practice. The intake form builder handles birth data collection before astrology sessions cleanly - date, time, city, client question, all delivered before the session without manual email back-and-forth.
Session package sales and gift certificates are stronger here than in any other tool in this list. A practitioner selling 5-session bundles or annual astrology report packages will find the flow smoother on Acuity than on Calendly or Trafft.
No free plan. The $20/month Starter tier is the entry point.
Cal.com - Best Free Option and Developer Integration
Cal.com has an astrologer-specific landing page at cal.id/industry/astrologer - the only tool in this directory with a dedicated esoteric profession landing.
The free hosted tier includes unlimited event types, payment collection, workflow automations, and calendar integrations. For what Calendly charges $10-$16/month for, Cal.com provides free.
For EsoTech builders embedding booking into a platform, Cal.com's open API and webhook system is the most accessible of the tools listed. Self-hosting is possible for complete data control.
Square: Do Not Use
Square appears in the table with a warning. Square's Merchant User Agreement explicitly prohibits "occult materials" - defined as anything that "claims to perform a supernatural or metaphysical act." Tarot readings, astrology consultations, and energy healing sessions fall under this definition. Account termination has occurred without warning for esoteric practitioners.
This applies to Square Appointments (the booking tool) too - the payment processor and the booking tool share the same ToS. Do not use Square for any esoteric service business.
For the full payment processor analysis across Square, Stripe, PayPal, Payhip, and crypto options, see Payment Processors for Metaphysical Services.
